The original bout between the former world heavyweight champion and YouTuber-turned-boxer had been set to take place on July 20.

Tyson reportedly became unwell while aboard a flight from Miami to Los Angeles during May and needed medical assistance.

Organisers of the event at the 80,000-capacity stadium, which is home to the Dallas Cowboys, have now confirmed the new date, with previously purchased tickets to be honoured or a refund offered until July 8.

Most Valuable Promotions, who are staging the event alongside Netflix, said in a statement: “The highly anticipated heavyweight fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson and the most anticipated rematch in women’s boxing history, Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano, is rescheduled for Friday November 15 2024 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.”

MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian added: “Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time, as well as allowing us to keep the event at AT&T stadium in the midst of the Cowboys season.

“Paul v Tyson is the most cross-generational sporting event in history, and we are committed to providing fans worldwide with this unforgettable night of boxing, live globally on Netflix.

“We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday November 15 for a showdown that will be talked about for generations to come.”

Paul is 30 years Tyson’s junior and has won nine out of 10 fights, which have mostly been against ex-UFC fighters, with his only loss against Love Island star Tommy Fury.

Tyson – whose professional career ended in 2005 and has not competed since an exhibition match four years ago – is confident he will return to the ring in good shape. While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight – Jake Paul is getting knocked out

MIKE TYSON

“Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly,” said the former world heavyweight champion, who will have turned 58 by the time he faces Paul.  I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties.

“While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight – Jake Paul is getting  by the knocked out.”

The 57-year-old was reportedly flying from Miami to Los Angeles when he became unwell.

Mike Tyson is “doing great” after an apparent medical scare while aboard a flight on Sunday, representatives for the former world heavyweight champion have said.

According to reports, the 57-year-old was flying from Miami to Los Angeles when he became unwell and appeals were made to find passengers with medical experience to provide assistance.

Paramedics then came on board after the plane landed, delaying passengers from disembarking for around 25 minutes.

Tyson’s representatives told the New York Post in an email: “Thankfully Mr Tyson is doing great.

“He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

If we take Anthony Joshua at his word, the heavyweight division could be in for some explosive, exciting nights over the coming years.

The two-time unified champion sat down with TNT’s Laura Woods to promote his fight with Otto Wallin on the massive upcoming ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in Saudi Arabia.

Asked to describe Tyson Fury, Francis Ngannou and Deontay Wilder with a single word and to then describe how fights between he and his heavyweight rivals would play out, Joshua spoke about his peers more candidly than we are used to hearing.

After describing Fury as a “diva,” a relaxed Joshua spoke freely about how and why he would beat ‘The Gypsy King’ if and when they meet.

“Good fight. Too quick, too strong, he can’t lean on me, can’t throw me about and I’m explosive. I can knock people out. I knock a lot of people out.

“No, it won’t be early, he’s a good fighter but I’ll be there. I’ll be there 100%.”

How about Francis Ngannou? The former UFC heavyweight champion shocked the world by dropping Fury and giving him all the trouble he could handle during their crossover ‘Battle of the Baddest’ in October. Fury may have been far from his best but Ngannou’s remarkable performance was arguably the most eye-catching professional debut of all time and the Cameroonian made sure that he will be a high profile and extremely lucrative option for the top heavyweight fighters for the foreseeable future.

“Inspiration,” said Joshua when asked to describe him. “His story. If you can’t take motivation from that and inspiration, I don’t know what would drive you in life. What a story he has.

“War. The first man to land is going out. The battle of the body builders. Tyson Fury can stay at home.”

Finally, Joshua was asked about his long time rival and co-star for next week’s extravaganza in Saudi Arabia. Joshua and long time WBC champion, Deontay Wilder, have circled each other for close to a decade. Although both fighters have suffered defeats, it seems impossible to imagine a fight between them being anything other than a don’t blink shootout.

The plan is clear. Should Joshua get past Wallin and Wilder come through a tricky looking test against former WBO champion, Joseph Parker, a fight between the two most explosive elite heavyweights in the world should happen next year.

“Bronze,” Joshua said when asked for one word to describe Wilder in a clever play on his ‘Bronze Bomber’ nickname. “Not gold. Just general. You’re not gold.”

Despite his lengthy and spectacular highlight reel and proven fight ending power, Joshua isn’t sure whether Wilder would hit any harder than Ngannou but believes that the fight would indeed be a short, violent affair.

“The same as Ngannou [a war],” he said.

“You know what it is in heavyweight boxing? Every heavyweight hits differently. Some have got a thudding power. Some have got a slapping power. Some have got a punch that you never see coming. There’s a variety of different power so I don’t know.”

Tyson Fury is refusing to back down in his argument with talkSPORT, having recently banned the broadcaster from a press conference.

The Gypsy King is currently preparing for his fight with Oleksandr Usyk, with both men confirming a new date for that showdown earlier in the month.

February 17 was announced as the day when Fury and Usyk will finally slog it out for the heavyweight title, with boxing fans around the world excited about the upcoming bout.

However, talkSPORT were banned from the event with Fury taking issue with the opinions of some of their pundits and guests.

The 35-year-old also banned talkSPORT from being in attendance as he beat Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia at the end of last month.

However, there seems to be no end to the feud in sight.

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, spoke to the broadcaster and insisted his client was refusing to back down.

He also targeted Adam Catterall, insisting his opinions were to blame for the row.

“That you’re going to have to speak to him about, I can’t move it forward,” he said.

“He’s got his views and he’s where he’s at, but I’ve been trying to explain this and even up until a couple of minutes ago you’re still criticising.”

Catterall attempted to explain himself, saying: “But that’s an opinion, isn’t it?”

Yet Warren continued his war of words and said: “You can have an opinion and everyone’s entitled to an opinion.

“But sometimes there should be an informed opinion and sometimes you should listen to what’s going on and hear what’s going on.”

They did, however, end the segment amicably.

Fury’s brother, Shane, recently condemned talkSPORT and singled out Simon Jordan for criticism.

“When you try and earn a living off someone, you have to be half sensible,” he said.

“talkSPORT and Simon Jordan will never have anything to do with Tyson again.

“The biggest fight in history is coming up and he might have done 100,000 views on some stupidness that he’s said, it is what it is.

“I’m sure he will do something else, but he won’t be working with Tyson.”

And Warren also said earlier in the month that the ban was ‘fair’.

“Do I think it is fair,” Warren told Boxing Social.

“Let’s put it into the reasons why, because of the negativity and so forth that came from them.

“The bottom line of it was there were presenters on there who said they would not watch the fight, they had no interest in the fight, so, its no loss then is it.”

Fury is now looking ahead to his showdown with Usyk.

Both men have unbeaten records in boxing so far, which only adds to the excitement.

Fury has won 34 of his 35 bouts, with a draw against Deontay Wilder in 2018 the only blot on his record.

Usyk, meanwhile, has won all 21 of his fights – with 14 of them coming via KO.
