Back in February, the legend of the sport had revealed his new apparel line, Sun Day Red. However, following the reveal, everything went downhill pretty quickly as the fans started to find the whole brand and its logo underwhelming. Even Tiger Woods’s recent appearance in August was met with a poor response from the community despite a lot of focus falling instead on Jason Day. It doesn’t seem to be any different even when the golfer’s brand launched their ‘All Things Red’ collection recently.

via Reuters

Soon after the professional’s line launched its new collection, TWLEGION, a fan page dedicated to the golfer went ahead to point out the same along with the prices of the cloth items. What came as a result was nothing short of pandemonium as the fans took to share their dissatisfaction with the brand, its products, and the exorbitant prices.

Tiger Woods launches new ‘Sun Day Red’ collection

Woods’s new collection included polos being marked at “$120-150 USD, Mocks from $125-150, Pants from $165, Tee shirts from $70, Ball markers from $50, Hats from $40.” Overpriced? That’s what many felt as well as the clothes hit the internet. But, the surprise doesn’t seem to end there as it experienced a similar fate as the first collection they released this month, with nothing remaining.

Just days ago, the first set ‘The Hunt’ that was released was also accompanied by the ‘sold out’ notice as soon as they popped out on the official site. However, not long after, the items were spotted by many again on eBay at an even higher price, at 2x, 3x, or even six times the already overpriced figures.

Coming back to the recent release, the launch also included the first versions of Tiger Woods’s brand’s mock red polos, the ‘Fermi Mock’ and ‘3D Knit Mock.’ Along with the same, the line also consisted of hats in both red and black, out of which the former has been sold out. The Cypress Tour Towel, the limited edition red, silver, and black ball markers also faced the same fate. Even after being sold out, the fans couldn’t help but express their dissatisfaction with the line.

Netizens pass their verdict on Woods’s Sun Day Red

Over the last 28 years of his professional career, Tiger Woods has won a total of 15 majors and 82 PGA Tour events. He also ranks first in the most number of weeks that a golfer stayed as the No.1 in the OWGR ranking and has thus garnered many fans all over the world. But even they were skeptical and outright dismissive of the brand and its new line. Why? It’s all thanks to the prices. Many commented with responses such as “Nope. Looks like trash. Sorry @TigerWoods  I love you but this brand conception and implementation is terrible,” and “Nope, maybe if the polos were around 80$. Don’t care if it’s tiger I ain’t paying an extra 40$ for a brand anymore.” But, the one that stood out the most is another ardent fan dishing out his support as well as his verdict; “nope – designs pretty s**t for the greatest golfer to ever live and it’s expensive. The TW logo was Tiger and to go in a different direction with this tiger logo was just odd from his marketing team. That being said I’ll be watching every shot and cheering him on as I have done for 20 years.”

During the recently ended major at Augusta National, attention came to be focused on Jason Day as he walked in donning Malbon Golf clothes. What transpired as a result was brutal. Trolls against the golfer came dishing out as fans and followers of the sport made fun of his white jersey paired with a white pair of shoes, blue trousers, and a blue cap. A user went ahead to compare the same to Tiger Woods’s recent line all the while commenting on the prices and his comment came out as a jab as well as a compliment; “None of this hyper minimalist logo design is worth it. You can like Tiger all you want, but these prices are laughable. Better than Jason Day’s outfits at least” In the meantime, another follower reacted comically in a bid to make him follow Day’s example, “I need to see Tiger wear those red pants tho.”

What did you think of Tiger Woods’s new collection? Was it overpriced as the fans mentioned it to be? Let us know in the comments below.

Pecker says he used photos of Woods cheating on his wife for blackmail

It had long been rumored Tiger Woods was unfaithful to ex-wife Elin Nordegren a couple of years before that fateful Thanksgiving weekend in 2009.

The speculation was that photos of Woods and alleged mistress Mindy Lawton were never published after the National Enquirer and Woods negotiated a deal that would put him on the cover of Men’s Fitness.

Turns out that speculation is the truth, according to David Pecker.

At the time of the Lawton incident, Pecker was the CEO of American Media Inc., which operated the Enquirer and Men’s Fitness.

Pecker, testifying at the New York v. Trump trial in New York, said he bought the photos and buried them in return for Woods appearing on the magazine.

Pecker says he bought the pictures of the two in the parking lot of a church and used them as blackmail. Woods was on the cover of the magazine with a 12-page story about his diet, workout regimen and marriage.

The deal only bought Woods so much time, though, as his affair with Rachel Uchitel became very public in 2009, which led to Nordegren swinging a golf club at Woods’ vehicle.

As the argument became news, dozens of women came forward describing relationships with Woods. His divorce reportedly cost Woods almost $100 million.

Woods has been in and out of relationships since then, including with Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. His most recent relationship with Erica Herman ended badly when she accused Woods of sexual harassment and making her sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Woods recently played in The Masters and made his record 24th consecutive cut. But in the third round, he shot an 82, his worst score ever at Augusta, which resulted in a finish of dead last.

Rory McIlroy is in line to receive about $50m as the wait for an agreement with the Saudi Public Investment Fund goes on

Tiger Woods has received an email from Sawgrass HQ informing him that he will receive up to $100 million in equity for staying loyal to the PGA Tour, with Rory McIlroy benefitting possibly to the tune of $50m for not joining LIV.

Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour commissioner, pressed the button on the ultra-personal messages that have been eagerly awaited since Strategic Sports Group – a consortium of US investors led by Liverpool FC owner Fenway Sports – pumped $1.5 billion into PGA Tour Enterprises, the new for-profit company, three months ago.

Approximately two thirds of that figure will be divvied up as equity to 193 golfers, although with $750 million to be split among the 36 superstars adjudged by the circuit to be most deserving the sums will be wildly different. Little wonder, therefore, that Monahan and his management team have been at pains to keep the breakdown confidential.

The Tour has already explained to its members that a primary factor in determining who obtains what is a metric called ‘career points’, which, as it says on the tin, awards marks for achievements on Tour for however long the players have been competing.

Other factors will be how they have fared in the Player Impact Program(PIP) – introduced three years ago largely to stave off the threat of the breakaway league – which rewards players who have had the largest impact on the Tour’s business: tickets, sponsorships, media consumption and fan engagement. Woods has already received $35 million in PIP payments, while McIlroy, who topped last year’s program, has pulled in $30.5 million from this source of income.

Inevitably, Woods, with 82 Tour titles, will be miles clear in the overall standings and insiders forecast he could secure as much as two times more than any other player in the sliding-scale system.

Phil Mickelson would have been second had he not jumped ship to LIV – the rebels are obviously excluded – although the new entity and this scheme would almost certainly not have come to fruition but for the formation of the Saudi-funded league and, in part, Mickelson’s role in the sporting civil war.

With three victories in the FedEx Cup – basically the PGA Tour money list – McIlroy will be Woods’s nearest pursuer and there will follow the likes of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, who will be due equity worth about $30 million.

Annual equity awards for other PGA players

Of course, with Jon Rahm landing an upfront fee of $450 million to defect late last year, all of these names would have acquired far, far more if they had succumbed to the Saudi offers. And this record payday does not mean money in the bank. The recipients will be told how many equity units they have been granted and what the fair market value is at this juncture. They will not be able to cash in immediately and then suddenly sign for LIV.

After four years, 50 per cent of their equity will be vested, with another 25 per cent two years later and the remaining amount two years after that. They will also have to fall in line with the rules, which as well as not decamping, involve meeting the minimum requirements for Tour membership and, if not, providing services such as sponsors meets and media appearances.

The lucky three dozen will rub their hands, but the next 64 players will also collect $75 million in equity between them. The next tranche will see a total of 57 players sharing $30 million and another $75 million will be carved up between the 36 players considered living legends who have retired. In each group, career points will be the overriding determinant. Going forward, the Tour has pledged to award equity of $100 million on an annual basis rewarding those such as second-year sensation Ludvig Aberg who are quickly picking up career points.

Naturally, the equity will grow, despite the Tour’s recent poor TV ratings as the dilution of talent because of the split takes its toll. Nobody is expecting it to fall. And if the Tour can agree a deal with the Saudi Public Investment Fund in the ongoing negotiations then the players hope their stocks could explode. If that remains uncertain then at least one thing appears assured: the current batch of professionals are not going poor anytime soon.

Tiger Woods’s son will play 18 holes Thursday in an attempt to advance to 36-hole final qualifying.

Charlie Woods, the son of three-time U.S. Open champion Tiger Woods, will attempt the first stage of qualifying for this year’s tournament at Pinehurst No. 2 when he competes in an 18-hole local event on Thursday in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Woods, 15, who unsuccessfully attempted to qualify for the Cognizant Classic in February in an 18-hole pre-qualifying round, has an 8:18 a.m. ET tee time at the Legacy Golf & Tennis Club.

The field consists of 84 players with five expected to advance to 36-hole qualifying in June.

From there, approximately 90 to 100 players—based on those who are already exempt into the field for the tournament—will advance to the 124th Open, to be played for the fourth time at famed Pinehurst No. 2.

Past major champions, those who are among the top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking and the top 30 from last year’s PGA Tour FedEx Cup standings are among the players who are exempt.

The United States Golf Association said it accepted more than 10,000 entries for this year’s championship, the third time it has surpassed the 10,000 barrier. There are local sites in 44 states and Canada that are conducting 18-hole qualifiers through May 20.

From there, those who advance will go to one of 10 U.S sites—there are also three international sites—for the 36-hole final qualifying.

Tiger Woods won the U.S. Open in 2000, 2002 and 2008—after also winning three U.S. Juniors and three U.S. Amateurs. The 15-time major champion has not competed in the U.S. Open since missing the cut in 2020 at Winged Foot.

He is also not exempt for this year’s U.S. Open as his five-year exemption for winning the 2019 Masters expired last year, but is in line to receive a special exemption from the USGA in the coming weeks.

From preferring soccer over golf when he was younger to playing his first PGA Tour pre-qualifier event in February 2024, Charlie Woods has come a long way. So, as Tiger Woods returned to the Masters this year – an event steeped in tradition – almost everyone expected his 15-year-old to be there with him. However, that wasn’t the case, and the 15-time major champion explained why.

Once a golfer wins the Masters, they become an honorary member of the Augusta National Golf Club. Because of that, they can set up a round of gold whenever the course is open for regular play. While Charlie has tagged along with his father on previous occasions, he wasn’t there this year when Tiger played the course last weekend. Referring to something the 48-year-old said last year, a reporter mentioned Charlie during the Masters press conference.

They asked, “I think last year you talked about bringing your son here and sharing memories with him. How often do you bring him here to play, and how often does he ask to come?” Tiger Woods replied, “We haven’t played together in a couple years now.” When the five-time Masters champion visited Augusta last weekend, he played alongside his caddie Lance Bennett, Justin Thomas, and close confidante Rob McNamara. Woods explained, “I came up here last weekend. He wanted to be at home.

So I came up here and got a chance to play with the chairman and Rob and JT, and we had just an absolute blast,” he added. Addressing the part about sharing memories with Charlie, Woods said, “I would like to, obviously, play a little bit more up here with him and to share the experiences. Especially now that he’s got a little bit longer so he hits it past me.” It was evident that Woods missed his son during that excursion, even if he had a fantastic time with his buddies, just like the father-son duo did in 2022 – an Augusta experience that Woods admitted “meant a lot to both of us.”

After his 2021 car crash, that was the first time he returned to Augusta to play. And with Tiger and Charlie was Justin Thomas. Describing what that feeling to play with his son at the iconic course was like, Woods said, “[Charlie] had a chance to play right before the ’20 Masters, and he’s grown a lot since then, become a lot better player. It was fun to see the changes in him and for us as a family to go out here and have Robbie out here and JT, and just play together. We just had a blast.”

Since that 2022 outing, Charlie Woods has grown a lot more, both in terms of his physique and his ball-hitting ability, so much so that his father joked during the recent press conference, “I think that the days of playing from the members’ tees are over. He’s got to come back there with us.” With the 15-year-old not making an appearance at the ANGC last weekend, it put into question his attendance for Wednesday’s Par 3 Contest as a caddie for Tiger. Speaking of being on the same team…

When did Charlie and Tiger Woods last play together?

The last time Tiger Woods and his son Charlie played together was at the PNC Championship in 2023. They might not have won, but they were, without a doubt, the highlights of the last round at the Orlando Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. While Bernhard Langer and his son Jason took home the trophy with a dominant final round, Team Woods tied for fifth place, showing not only Charlie’s noteworthy talent but also Tiger’s exciting return to competitive golf.

The then 14-year-old Charlie Woods impressed all through the competition. He showed a remarkable touch on the greens and drove the ball 355 yards. His chip-in birdie, however, which included a celebratory fist pump emulating his father’s famous actions from his heyday, was the highlight.

Tiger Woods may have found his form again, and Charlie Woods showed signs of a bright future at the PNC Championship. We hope he can replicate some of that form now, a few days before the Masters, as it was some of his best work since his return following the injury. However, his performance, as of now, is purely up to speculation.

Future golf superstars are created in the amateur rounds. The young players consistently push the limits of the game, earning incredible victories and low handicaps. Gordon Sargent and Charlie Woods are two of the names generating a lot of buzz in the golf world. Sargent, born in 2003, has been ruling the amateur circuit and was given a special invitation to the esteemed Masters in 2023 and performed wonderfully against the greatest players. In the US Open 2023, he was also the Low Amateur.

Gordon Sargent is currently the top men’s amateur golfer, and the title proves his skill to everyone. This American prodigy has an incredible +5.5 handicap. Put another way, Sargent needs to shoot an incredible 64 to break par on a typical par-70 course.

via Imago

Although Sargent is at the top right now, Charlie Woods is not far behind. Charlie, only fifteen years old, is attracting attention already. It takes a minimum handicap of 2 or better to compete in a PGA Tour pre-qualifier. Charlie Woods easily beats this standard with a handicap index of +3. This, he also competed in the Cognizant Classic’s pre-qualifier but sadly could not succeed.

The younger Woods’s involvement in high-profile events such as the PNC Championship with his father has let him take the path that most amateurs have not had the chance to explore. Although he hasn’t yet achieved the great heights of Sargent’s handicap, Woods Jr. shows promise and talent. The two budding golfers have already made a name for themselves in the golf world, and are garnering praise from seasoned pros.

Pros talk about the amateurs’ game

Gordon Sargent, who is known for his incredible distance, hits the ball at an average of 185–190 mph, which translates to an average hit of well over 300 yards. His skills have shaken up the game, leaving veteran players like Max Homa in amazement at his power and skill. Homa said, “He hits it 95 miles. He was so far by us it’s crazy. He’s a phenomenal golfer. Really nice kid. He doesn’t look like he’s going at it that hard. I’ve heard so many good things about his game. It was probably even more impressive to see him in person.”

Charlie Woods is also known for his ball-hitting skills. His clubhead speed, according to Notah Begay, Tiger Woods‘s close buddy and teammate from college, is between 115 and 120 mph. Begay further mentioned that Charlie and his driver can “cruise” at a ball speed in the mid-170s. “For his age, (that’s) quite a lot of ball speed,” Begay said.

Gordon Sargent’s handicap of +5.5 is just incredible, but Charlie Woods, who is only 15 years old, is too young to be overlooked. Based on their current ratings, Sargent has an advantage over Woods. But Woods seems to be a prodigy in his own right, wanting to continue his father’s legacy. The golf world will be watching the young golfers’ game intently as they go up the amateur ranks!

While Charlie Woods will be eager to replicate his father’s success on the greens, another name is already etching his name in golf history. In 2023, 15-year-old Miles Russell, surpassed Tiger Woods to become the youngest golfer to win the American Junior Golf Association Boys Player of the Year. And now his debut performance at the Korn Ferry Tour is already garnering attention while leading to scrutinizing of Charlie Woods’ recent efforts by the fans.

Russell, a lefty, is the world’s top-ranked junior golfer from the US and once again showcased that the golfing world should consider him as one of the bright prospects of the game.

Miles Russell writes history

Miles Russell is currently participating in the LECOM Suncoast Classic of the Korn Ferry Tour. It is his debut in a PGA Tour sanction event on a sponsor exemption a few hours away from his hometown at the Lakewood National Golf Club. When Russell was asked about his current aim and what he expected out of the game, Miles Russell said, “I don’t know what to expect, but I’d love to make the cut and who knows, maybe have a good weekend and see where it puts me.”

Miles Russell, from the get-go, put forth a dominating performance on the greens, as he started on the back nine, was able to card a score of 31 and became among the early leaders. Russell went on to a total of 5 birdies, and he wrapped up the first round with a 3-under 68, tying for the 45th position.

Taking to his outstanding performances on the greens, Dan Rapaport, shared a post to appreciate the young star. Sharing the stats of his first round from the LECOM Suncoast Classic and another picture of him holding the AJGA’s trophy in his hands and highlighted his previous victory where Russell won the Junior PLAYERS last year at the age of 14, with an exceptional score of 9-under 207. Rapaport wrote, “World No. 1 junior Miles Russell is 15 years old. He’s also -4 through 9 in his Korn Ferry Tour debut. Won the junior Players last year at 14.”

Russell’s performance has led fans to question the hype behind Charlie Woods. Fans wonder whether Tiger Woods’s son is actually going to be the next big thing in golf, or has Russell already surpassed him. An immediate comparison between the two young golfers took over the internet.

Golf fans quip “Charlie Woods who?” after Russell’s Korn Ferry Tour debut

After coming across Dan Rapaport’s recent post, the entire golf community came together to praise Miles Russell while also taking sly digs at Charlie Woods. Hinting at Charlie Woods’ performances off-late at the greens where Russell has been tasting success, one of them wrote, Wya Charlie.”

Last year, Russell won the Junior PGA Championship (by seven strokes), and Junior PLAYERS Championship, en route to becoming the event’s youngest winner, and represented the United States at the Junior Ryder Cup.

A follower on X, quipped “Charlie Woods who???” after Miles’ performance at the LECOM Suncoast Classic saw him surpass competitors with ease. Rusell grabbed attention when he nearly qualified for the PGA TOUR’s Puerto Rico Open last month – falling in a playoff for the final spot.

There was much hype around Charlie Woods as he teed it up in a pre-qualifier for the PGA Tour’s 2024 Cognizant Classic. However, he failed to advance ending the match with a 16-over 86. He not only scored a series of bogeys but also carded a double bogey on the 5th hole, which brought his downfall. On the other hand, Miles Russell scored 2-under 70 at the same event. Drawing a subtle comparison between the two young fans, a user wondered, I thought Charlie was the real deal though? I have been lied to”.

Russell was also put on the list of golfers who are left-handed, which includes 54-time PGA Tour winner Phil Mickelson—the beloved Lefty of the golf world—and OWGR No. 1 golfer Scotties Scheffler. Russell managed to earn another huge compliment from a fan who said, Representing the lefties.”

Another fan was left in awe of Russell and his play and wrote, “Leftie, and a lovely swing.” As Miles Russell continues to rank up the ranks, the onus will be on Charlie Woods to turn the fan sentiment in his favor down the line.

Tiger Woods
and ex-wife Elin Nordegren have been through the ringer since the former couple first met at the Open Championship in 2001.

The duo’s love story started off promising, with the pair getting engaged two years after they first crossed paths. They said their “I dos” in October 2004 and soon welcomed two children: daughter Sam and son Charlie.

Six years into their marriage, however, things fell apart after Woods was involved in a bombshell cheating scandal. Woods admitted in fall 2009 that he’d been unfaithful and the couple finalized their divorce the following August.

Both parties have also since moved on with other partners. Woods started dating Erica Herman in 2017, though the pair split by late 2022. Nordegren revealed in June 2019 that she had found love again with former football pro Jordan Cameron, with whom she later welcomed kids Arthur, Zeta and Freya.

“Tiger and Elin are truly in a great place,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in March 2023. “He’s been so great with the kids, and that really brought her around to having a friendship with Tiger.”

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy had a vision to bring the game of golf from the greens to the screen by combining advanced technology. Thus the TGL was born; however, even before the new league could go on floors, it was constantly fraught with numerous challenges and hiccups, whether it be Jon Rahm’s withdrawal from the league or the collapse of the So-Fi Stadium Dome, which pushed the inaugural season to January 2025.

via Reuters

Amidst all the worries and chaos, Tiger Woods recently came up with a rather positive TGL update and even teased the unveiling of the three golfers who would join Mr.T’s team in the tech league.

Who are the three PGA Tour players joining Woods’s TGL team?

One of the main attractions of the league is its team format. TGL will have 24 PGA Tour players, who will be divided into 6 teams of four members each. The teams are named after six different cities, which are Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, Los Angeles GC, New York GC, TGL San Francisco, and lastly Tiger Woods’s team, Jupiter Links GC.

The team is named after the Treasure Coast of Florida, Jupiter, which is renowned for its lighthouse, beautiful beaches, and best-in-class golf. Currently, it’s only Woods on the roster of the team. However, it looks like the other three members will soon be revealed, as he took to his official X handle (formerly known as Twitter) not so long ago and dropped an 11-second video.

The snippet consisted of four chairs on the Florida beach, with Woods’ name written on the leftmost chair. On the other hand, the other three chairs had blank spaces, which, according to the post, will be filled by Monday, April 22nd, as the caption of the tweet read, “Find out who’s going to be filling these chairs on Monday @TGL.”

The tease put up by Woods on the post left the fans wondering who the players would be competing with for the win. Some of them even put up their guesses in sheer excitement.

Golf fans share who they think will be a perfect fit for Tiger Woods’s TGL team

From Valero Texas Open winner Akshay Bhatia to already-teamed-up Rory McIlroy, the fans suspect all the possible permutations and combinations that can work up for the Jupiter Links Golf Club. To begin with, the golf community had rather unique guesses as to who would complete the team at Jupiter Links Golf Club. While one of them suggested, “Bhatia, Zalatoris, Burns”, another did not choose pro golfers and chose to list golf YouTubers and commented, “Is it, @RickShielsPGA, @PeterFinchGolf, and  @GuyCharnock???!!”

Rory McIlroy has already been elected as the first member of the Boston Common Golf. Despite that, one of them suggested that he would be tagging along with Tiger Woods in the team, besides Seamus Power and Shane Lowry. They wrote, “Rory, Shane & Seamus Power.”

Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, and many more have joined the TGL ranks. Yet, some of the very famous names were missing, including Bryson DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler, and some other top contenders. Hinting that one of them might be his son Charlie Woods, and the others Bryson DeChambeau and Rickie Fowler, one of them hinted, “Dechambeau, Fowler, Charlie”.

However, there were some peculiar comments too, which were directed at his last few performances. Tiger Woods has indeed suffered one too many injuries, and taking into account the fact that the TGL is supposed to be played virtually, it makes one believe that this is his way of announcing his retirement. They wrote, “Are those retirement chairs? You’re the goat but cooked,” suggesting that it was time that he got off the field and took some rest.

An insider reveals Tiger Woods’ feelings about ex-wife Elin Nordegren

Tiger Woods, the golf legend, reportedly longs for a reunion with his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren. Recently, they reunited to support their son, Charlie, at his high school event.

Despite Elin moving on, Tiger still holds onto the hope of a second chance

On March 26, they came together to celebrate their son Charlie’s state championship win in golf at his high school in North Palm Beach, Florida. This sparked feelings of regret in Tiger about his past decisions. He said that he misses the life he had with Elin, especially given the rocky relationships he’s had since their split.

A source close to the pair spilled the beans, saying, “Tiger has huge regrets about letting his life with Elin slip through his fingers.”

“His relationships have been disastrous ever since they split, and he misses her,” the source added.

“He’s holding onto this fantasy that they might find their way back to each other,” the insider revealed. But let’s face it, Elin’s moved on, and she’s content with her current relationship.

In 2023, Tiger faced a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, Erica Herman.

Elin, on the other hand, has found happiness with former NFL player Jordan Cameron. She has been with him since 2017. They are now parents to three children: Zeta, Freya, and Arthur. Elin maintains a relationship with Tiger solely for their children’s sake.

Despite Elin’s contentment with her new life, Tiger can’t help but fantasise about a possible reunion. “She is very happy with Jordan and only maintains a relationship with Tiger for the sake of their kids,” said the source. “Not that that’s stopped him from this fantasy that they could still find their way back to each other.”
